    Lauren Derby enters her fourth season in the USC program and her third on the varsity squad... Rowed on the Varsity Fours and JV Eights in 2005...Helped lead JV Eight crew to a fourth-place finish at Pac-10's and a 10th-place finish at NCAAs in the No. 8 seat... A member of the 2005 11th place NCAA squad, the first team in USC history to receive a team bid to the NCAA championships... A 2004 team captain... Rowed with the JV Eight during the 2004 season... Helped lead crew to a fourth-place finish at Pac-10s in the bow seat... Rowed with the novice in 2003.

    During the summer of 2004, Derby competed with the Riverside Boat Club (Cambridge, Mass.). Earned a second-place finish in Senior Lightweight Pairs at the U.S. Rowing Club Nationals (Camden, N.J.) and two fourth-place finishes at the Canadian Henley (Ontario, Canada) in Lightweight Pairs and Eights.

    Derby is a 2002 graduate of Redwood High in Larkspur, Calif. ... Rowed with the Marin Rowing Association for four years... Eights captured a gold medal in the junior division at the 2002 San Diego Crew Classic and a silver medal in 2001... Team also competed at the Southwest Junior Rowing Championships, winning a gold medal in the Junior Eights 2000 and a silver in 2001... Her major is art history.
