LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Seven different Trojans found the back of the net as top-seeded USC defeated eighth-seeded UC Santa Barbara, 10-5, to advance to the semi-finals of the 2003 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament. Gadi Hadar, Trevor Clark and Thomas Hale each scored twice for USC. Goalkeeper Bozidar Damjanovic needed only three saves in the victory.
UCSB netminder Rick Wright posted nine saves in the contest.
The Trojans improve to 20-3 overall while UC Santa Barbara finishes the season with a 13-16 record.
USC will play No. 4-seeded California at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Belmont Plaza. A win by the Trojans would more than likely put the team into the NCAA Championship next weekend at Stanford.
