Trojans Take Seventh at UCSB Invitational

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - USC placed seventh at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational last weekend (Jan. 9-10), finishing with a 6-2 mark. On the first day, the Trojans defeated La Verne (15-4, 15-8), lost to Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (11-15, 7-15), beat California (15-6, 15-12), beat Washington State (15-13, 9-15, 15-5) and lost to No. 3 Pepperdine (8-15, 9-15). The Trojans then had a perfect second day, defeating BYU (17-15, 16-14) - the No. 1 team in the country - Sacramento State (15-5, 15-6) and finally No. 8 Stanford in the seventh-place game (10-15, 15-13, 15-13).
