    THIS SEASON: Sean Sussex, a 2007 senior, returns as USC's top freestyler sprinter for the second straight season. An All-American in back-to-back seasons who continues to improve, Sussex is a valuable and clutch relay swimmer whose next challenge is to reach the Pac-10 finals in the sprints and score individually at the NCAAs. He is the fourth fastest Trojan ever in the 50y free (19.87) and is 11th fastest in the 100y free (43.90).

    2006: As a 2006 junior, Sussex earned All-American honors on USC's sixth-place 200y medley relay and eighth-place 800y free relay ... He also raced individually in the 50y and 100y free ... At the 2006 Pac-10 Championships, he was 12th in the 100y free (44.32) and 15th in the 50y free (20.29) ... He raced in four events at the 2006 U.S. Spring Nationals, his efforts highlighted by a ninth-place consolation final win in the 50m free (23.45) ... Sussex also swam in three events at the 2006 U.S. Summer Nationals, topped by a 23rd in the 50m free.

    2005: Sussex made his NCAA Championships debut as a 2005 sophomore, earning All-American honors as part of USC's seventh-place 200m medley relay that set a school record (1:26.45). He also swam on USC's 200y, 400y and 800y free relays. Individually, he was 25th in the 50y free (19.87) and 29th in the 100y free (44.26) ... At the 2005 Pac-10 Championships, Sussex was ninth in the 100y free (44.08), 10th in the 50y free (20.22) and 14th in the 200y free (1:38.53) ... He raced in three events at the 2005 U.S. World Championships Trials, finishing 14th in the 50m free (23.40), 46th in the 100m (53.03) and 57th in the 200m free (1:56.78) ... At the 2005 U.S. Summer Nationals, he was 56th in the 100m free (52.09) and 81st in the 200m free (1:57.97).

    2004: Sussex raced three times at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships, finishing 14th in the 50y free (20.45), 17th in the 200y free (1:38.59) and 18th in the 100y free (45.23).

    HIGH SCHOOL: Sussex prepped at Mercer Island (Wash.) High, where he was an All-American all four years of his prep career ... He won 12 state titles, five individually and seven on relays ... Competed in three events at the 2003 U.S. Spring Nationals, posting a high of 20th place in the 50m free ... He was a member of the National Honor Society and was an Art State finalist.
