THIS SEASON: A 2007 senior, Michael Hilde returns as USC's top diver and looks to build on his All-American season in 2006. He has scored in seven of nine career NCAA diving events, has two career Pac-10 titles and has finished no lower than fifth in any of his nine Pac-10 Championship events.
2006: Hilde fought off a shoulder injury to earn his first career All-American honor as a junior thanks to an eighth-place finish on 3-meter springboard (337.90) at the 2006 NCAA Championships. He was also 10th on platform (289.85) and 14th on 1-meter (289.85), scoring in all three specialties at the NCAA for the second time in his career ... At the 2006 Pac-10 Championships, Hilde won his second career title on platform (347.20) and was fourth on 3-meter (346.70) and fifth on 1-meter (336.10).
2005: For the second consecutive year, Hilde qualified for the NCAA Championships in all three diving specialties and he posted a career-best ninth-place in the platform as a 2005 sophomore. He was ninth off the 10-meter board (474.40), just missing the finals cut. He also was 18th on 3-meter (501.15) and 23rd on 1-meter (273.45) ... At the 2005 Pac-10 Championships, Hilde was second on both 1-meter (312.10) and 3-meter (558.15) and third on platform (473.65).
2004: Hilde, the 2004 Pac-10 Newcomer Diver of the Year, was one of only two Trojans to score individually in three events at the 2004 NCAA Championships. He was 11th on both the platform (470.45) and the 3-meter springboard (532.90) and was 13th on 1-meter (288.85) ... At the 2004 Pac-10 Championships, Hilde won the Pac-10 title in the platform, taking the event with 513.00 points, defeating defending champion and teammate Ray Vincent. He was also second on the 3-meter springboard and fourth on the 1-meter springboard ... At the Zone E Championships, he was fourth on 1-meter and platform and seventh on 3-meter, earning a spot at the NCAAs ... At the 2004 U.S. Summer Nationals, Hilde was 15th on platform (430.98) and 20th on 3-meter (271.65).
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Laguna Hills High ... Won the 3-meter title at the 2003 Junior Nationals ... Competed at the 2002 U.S. Nationals, taking 17th on 3-meter and 23rd on 1-meter ... He was seventh on 3-meter at the 2001 U.S. Nationals and 21st on 1-meter ... Finished sixth on 3-meter at the 2000 U.S. Nationals ... Won a combined five Junior Olympic national titles in 1998 and 2000.
