    Wood was a 2002 AJGA All-American. He attended Santa Margarita (Cailf.) High ... He was medalist at the U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifying at Glendora Country Club in June, 2001, where he shot a course record 62 in the first round ... He had seven top 10 finishes on the AJGA national junior tour and six Southern California PGA junior tour wins, including a second-place finish at the prestigious Rolex Tournament of Champions in July of 2002.
