Sophomore Rory Hie averaged 72.75 per 18 holes in four fall events. He tied teammate Jamie Lovemark for sixth at the Fall Preview and tied for ninth at the CordeValle Collegiate, which included an opening round 68.

2006-2007
Hie, one of the top freshman golfers in the country in 2007, earned All-Pac-10 second team honors ... He posted four top 10 finishes, had eight in the top 20 and carded 12 rounds in the 60s, including a season-best 66 in the final round of the Pac-10 Championships ... Hie, ranked among the top 50 in the nation for much of his freshman season and finished second on the squad in stroke average (71.97) ... He earned Pac-10 Men's Golfer of the month honors for March, in part due to his first win, a two-shot victory at the USC Collegiate when he fired a 208 (69-68-71) ... His other top four finishes included a tie for third at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational with a 205 (67-69-69), a fourth at the Pac-10 Championships with a four-round, 9-under 279 (, 72-67-74-66) and a tie for sixth at the General Jim Hackler Championship with a 212 (70-73-69) ... At the NCAA Championships, Hie was tied for 43rd after rounds of 71, 71 and 70, but didn't get a chance to move up after the Trojans failed to make the cut. At the NCAA West Region, he tied for 14th with an 11-under 205 (67-71-67).

HIGH SCHOOL
Hie prepped at Cerritos (Calif.) High, where he earned All-American first team honors in 2004 and 2005 ... A consistent force on the AJGA Tour as well, he was a two-time member of the Canon Cup West Team in 2004 and 2005 ... In the 2005 summer, he had seven top 10 finishes in eight events (five of which were in the top five) on the AJGA circuit and was a quarterfinalist in the United States Public Links Championship ... In the summer of 2004 he won both the Heather Farr Classic and the Lennar Junior at Mission Hills. He was among the highest ranked prep players in the nation.

PERSONAL
Born on Sept. 1, 1988. A communication/psychology major, he is the son of Tommy and Rita Hie. He has two sisters, Melissa and Steffi.
