THIS SEASON: Jerry Dupree, a 6-foot-7, 200-pound 2003 junior forward, will look for an increased role in the Trojan frontcourt in his second year with the team. An extremely athletic player, Dupree has worked hard in the off-season to improve his all-around game and looks to be a more complete player come November.

BIBBY SAID: "Jerry's strength is his athleticism, but there are other things he needs to work on to become more of a factor. He's been working on his ball-handling and improving his shooting this summer, things that will hopefully pay off this winter. Whenever Jerry is on the court, it's like having another 7-footer on the floor because of his shot-blocking abilities."

2001-2002: Dupree started seven of 30 games as a 2002 sophomore forward, averaging 3.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11.7 minutes per game ... His 19 blocks were third best on the team ... Had a strong showing in the Pac-10 Tournament, averaging 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in the three games and making 14-of-19 field goals (.737). Those efforts included 10 points against Stanford, 12 points against Oregon and nine points and four blocks against Arizona ... Had season highs of 13 points and seven rebounds in USC's season-opener against Wyoming ... Had 12 points in the next game at Fresno State.

SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE: Dupree enrolled at San Bernardino (Calif.) Valley College in the Fall of 2000 but did not play basketball, instead concentrating on academics.

COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN IDAHO: Dupree played in 25 games, all as a reserve, as a 2000 freshman at College of Southern Idaho ... Averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 13.2 minutes per game ... Shot .538 from the field (78-of-145) and was .647 from the foul line (22-of-34) ... Had a season-high of 16 points.

HIGH SCHOOL: Dupree prepped at Valley View High in Moreno Valley, Calif., where he averaged 17.5 point, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game as a senior in 1999 ... Earned All-CIF Southern Section Division 1-AA second team and All-San Bernardino County and All-Sunbelt League first team honors as a senior.

SIDELIGHTS: Dupree was born on Sept. 5, 1981... He is a social science/history major.

OTHERS ON JERRY DUPREE: (Lyle Spencer, Riverside Press-Enterprise): "The 6-foot-7 sophomore from Moreno Valley with springs in his legs was the revelation of the reborn Pac-10 Tournament at Staples Center. Dupree, a leaping, bounding, electrifying weapon, was an exciting new toy for Bibby, who drove the high-octane Trojans to the final."
