He earned all-conference honors in his junior and senior seasons at St. Mark's School in Dallas, Texas for coach Tom Adams...in his senior season, he batted .387 with five home runs and 30 RBI while going 6-2 on the mound in 50 innings with a 2.24 ERA and 70 strikeouts...member of the baseball squad that won conference titles in his freshman and senior seasons...also earned all-conference honors on the basketball team.
