    THIS YEAR: Senior Duane Solomon has established himself as one of the finest 800m runners in the country and figures to be one of the favorites to win the 800m race at the NCAAs. He also owns the second-fastest 800m time in school history and will take aim at the USC record this season.

    2007: Took third place in the 800m at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. on June 24 with a new PR of 1:45.69, the second fastest time in USC history. He also qualified for the World Championships. Came in seventh at the NCAA Championships after posting the fastest qualifying time of 1:47.76. Placed second in the 800m race at both the Pac-10 and NCAA West Championships. Also anchored the Trojans' winning 4x400m relay team (3:08.45) which helped propel USC to its third consecutive regional title. Ran the second leg for USC's winning 4x400m relay at the Pac-10s (3:07.36). Joined with DaSean Cunningham, Raphael Asafo-Agyei and Irek Sekretarski to run a 7:18.43 time in the 4x800m race on April 5 at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas the fastest time in the U.S. last year and the second-fastest all-time at USC.

    2006: Continued to improve throughout the season, culminating with a season-best 800m of 1:47.45 to place fifth at the NCAA Championships, the 10th fastest mark in school history...Won the NCAA West Regional 800m with a time of 1:47.87, which was a new meet record...Also won the Pac-10 800m title with a time of 1:48.03..Won the 800m race at the UCLA-USC Dual Meet with a time of 1:47.74...Ran the final leg of USC's 4x800m relay team that placed second with a blazing time of 7:18.58 at the Texas Relays...USC finished second to Oral Roberts University...Won the 800m with a time of 1:48.96 while representing the United States at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Under 23 Championships in Santo Domingo, DR in July.

    2005: Solid season saw him post the fastest time by a Trojan in the 800m of 1:47.84 on March 26 at the UC San Diego Relays...Placed third in the 800m at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 1:48.73...Qualified for the NCAA Finals, but did not place. HIGH SCHOOL: Solomon prepped at Cabrillo (Calif.) High, where he won the 2003 California state 800m title and was named Gatorade Boys Athlete of the Year in 2002-2003...His PR of 1:49.79 was the best mark in the state in 2003...He also had bests of 4:15 in the 1600m, 4:06 in the 1500m and 48.1 in the 400m.
