Women's Soccer
Angela Farine is in her second year as an assistant athletic trainer for Rhode Island. She is currently serving as the athletic trainer for women's soccer and baseball teams. Before coming to URI, Farine served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She worked with the women's soccer team and women's gymnastics team while obtaining her Master's degree in Exercise Science. During those two years, she also worked with the Detroit Jaguars, a semi-professional W-League soccer team. Farine graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from West Virginia University. While at WVU, she worked with a variety of teams including women's gymnastics, football, wrestling, and men's and women's track and field. Farine has done research on micro-fracture injuries in athletes, which was presented at the West Virginia Athletic Trainers' Association state meeting in March 2003. While at Eastern Michigan, she also completed research on the use and abuse of over-the-counter pain relievers in intercollegiate athletes. |
