Rhode Island Will Send Two Competitors To NCAA Northeast Regional Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island gymnastics squad will send juniors Emily Rinaldo and Kelly Gurney to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships this Saturday at the Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan at 6:00 p.m. 

Rinaldo registered a career high with a score of 9.925 placing first on the uneven bars in the ECAC Championships, while finishing fourth in the all-around competition with a season-high score of 38.075.  Rinaldo placed her best on vault versus Pittsburgh back on Jan. 21 scoring a 9.550.  She scored her best on beam (9.525) against Yale on March 3.

Gurney finished sixth in the ECAC Championships all-around with a score of 38.000 including a fourth-place finish on uneven bars with a season best 9.750.  She tallied her best all-around score of 38.250 back on March 3 against Yale.  During that meet, she also posted her best floor exercise score with a 9.750 and also on beam with a 9.600.
