KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island junior Emily Rinaldo took first place on the uneven bars to lead the Rams to sixth place at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Gymnastics Championships in Keaney Gymnasium.

Towson defended its title from last season with a winning score of 191.275, followed by William and Mary (190.350), Pennsylvania (189.050), Yale (188.800), Cornell (188.800), Rhode Island (188.375), Temple (186.550), Brown (186.050) and James Madison (183.725) in the nine-team field.

Rinaldo registered a career high with a score of 9.925 in winning the uneven bars, while finished fourth in the all-around competition with a season-high score of 38.075

Christina Ghani of Towson took first in the all-around (38.500) as well as on vault (9.750). Cornell's Megan Gilbert posted a first-place effort on beam posting a score of 9.675, while Brittany Gibbs of William & Mary placed first on floor exercise with a 9.875. 

Junior Kelly Gurney finished sixth in the all-around placing a score of 38.000 including a fourth-place finish on uneven bars.  Senior Lauren Wurm also posted a season best in the event with a 9.725.
