Five Rams Earn All-CAA Recognition

KINGSTON, R.I. - Senior offensive tackle Dustin Bayer, honored as an I-AA All-American by The Sports Network last week, was named third-team All-American by the Associated Press, it was announced today.

A first-team All-Atlantic 10 choice, Bayer was a punishing blocker and helped Rhode Island runners amass 3,074 yards on the ground in 2004. With Bayer leading the way, the Rams have set school rushing records in three of the past four years.

In 2001, the Rams set a school standard rushing for 2,565 yards. Rhode Island rushed for 2,904 yards in 2002 and finished second in the nation in rushing in 2003, rushing for 4,005 yards. The Rams finished the 2004 campaign with 3,074 rushing yards.

The Endicott, N.Y. native will assist coach Tim Stowers on the sidelines this spring as a member of the Rhode Island coaching staff.
