The 2008-09 academic year marks Angela Farine's fourth year as an assistant athletic trainer for Rhode Island. She currently works with the women's soccer and baseball programs.

Before coming to URI, Angela was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. There, she worked with women's soccer and gymnastics while obtaining her master's degree in exercise science. During those two years, she also worked with the Detroit Jaguars, a semi-professional W-League soccer team.

Angela graduated with a bachelor of science degree in athletic training from West Virginia University. While at WVU, she worked with a variety of teams including women's gymnastics, football, wrestling and men's and women's track & field.

Angela has done research on micro-fracture injuries in athletes, which was presented at the West Virginia Athletic Trainers' Association state meeting in March 2003. While at Eastern Michigan, she also completed research on the use and abuse of over-the-counter pain relievers in intercollegiate athletics.

Angela is currently preparing to pursue her career goal of going to medical school.
