Pyles Earns East Region Honorable Mention

Dec. 11, 2003

North Carolina junior outside hitter Molly Pyles earned All-East Region honorable mention this season after she averaged 3.58 kills per game and 3.32 digs per game. Pyles led the Tar Heels to another 20 win season, as UNC finished the season at 20-12 after defeating South Carolina 3-0 on Nov. 29.

"Molly has been a leader throughout the season," said UNC head coach Joe Sagula. "We are excited she is being recognized as one of the significant contributors to the team and the conference."

Pyles also earned second-team All-ACC this season and garnered two tournament Most Valuable Player honors during the year as well. Pyles won the GlaxoSmithKline UNC Volleyball Classic MVP and the Jayhawk Classic MVP as Carolina swept both tournaments this season.
