Carolina Volleyball Defeats Clemson 3-2 in ACC Quarterfinals

Led by Laura Greene's 22 kills and 21 digs the UNC volleyball team defeated Clemson 3-2 (23-30, 30-23, 30-25, 25-30, 15-11) in the first round of the ACC Tournament Friday in Tallahasee, Fla. The second-seeded Tar Heels move to the tournament's semifinals where they will face the winner of Friday night's match between No. 3 Georgia Tech and No. 6 Maryland Saturday at 4 p.m.

Nicole Reis led the Tar Heels in kills with 28 and added 13 digs, while hitting .362 for the match. Eve Rackham led coach Joe Sagula's squad in assists with 41, while Malaika Underwood added 23 assists and 10 digs.

Ryane Beasley led Clemson in kills (20) and digs (19), and Jesi Betcher totaled a team-high 39 assists for the Tigers.

As a team, Carolina outhit the Tigers .276 to .259 for the match.
