Tar Heels Look To Bounce Back Against Wolfpack

Oct. 29, 2007

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The North Carolina volleyball team is coming off an 0-2 weekend but will have a chance to post a win right away as the Tar Heels will take on the NC State Wolfpack at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in midweek volleyball action. Carolina will look to extend its winning streak to 19 against the Wolfpack after capturing a 3-0 match in Raleigh earlier this year.

The Last Two Matches
Carolina - UNC dropped a pair of matches over the weekend to the top team in the ACC, Clemson, by a 3-1 margin and dropped a heartbreaker at Georgia Tech 3-2 to close out the weekend. Bekah Brinkley had an impressive weekend hitting .553 with 29 kills in the pair of matches. Leading the team with 30 kills was Megan Owens.

NC State - The Wolfpack were swept in both of their matches last weekend losing 3-0 to Georgia Tech on Friday and 3-0 to Clemson on Saturday. With the losses NC State has now lost 19 consecutive matches and are 3-20 on the year and are 0-13 in ACC play.

The Last Meeting
Carolina claimed a 3-0 sweep in Reynolds Coliseum to open ACC play. Five different Tar Heels recorded eight kills or more in the victory, led by Sue Haydel's 10. The Tar Heels tallied 12 blocks in the victory as they trailed just three times the entire match.
