GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Tar Heels continued their winning ways against the East Carolina Pirates with a 3-0 (15-12, 15-9, 15-12) win in Greenville, N.C. Tuesday. The victory increased UNC's all-time record against the Pirates to 32-1. Unofficial statistics from the match have the Tar Heels being led by senior Asa Gustavsson with 14 kills, junior Lisa Fryer with 10 digs and freshman Eve Rackham with 33 assists.

The Tar Heels trailed in games one (11-7) and three (7-4) of the match, however they proved to be too much for the Pirates as they rebounded to win both games. UNC will now return home to play their first home matches of the season in the Carolina/Nike Classic on Sept. 17 and 18.
