The Tar Heels bounced back from a first-round loss to No. 6 Florida, to defeat the Dayton Flyers 3-1 (15-9, 15-3, 13-15, 15-12) in the Consolation Match of the InnTowner Invitational Saturday.

Junior Casey Simpson again led UNC in kills with 20 and tied for the lead in digs at 15 with freshman Eve Rackham. Senior Tori Seibert completed the trio of Tar Heels with a double-double as she put away 11 kills and 12 digs.

UNC finished with five players with double figures in digs to record a season-high of 81 for the match. Freshman Laura Greene and junior Liz Feldman added 14 and 12 digs respectively to complete the five.

The Tar Heels next match is September 14 when they travel to Greenville, N.C. to play East Carolina.
