KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --- Breanna Brown and Lisa Norris were named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Southeast Region team, the NFCA announced Wednesday. Norris, a sophomore from Snellville, Ga., landed a spot as a pitcher on the second team, while Brown, a sophomore from Durham, N.C., was recognized for her play as an outfielder.

Norris sports a 1.94 earned run average and a 24-12 record on the season, leading the way for the UNC pitching staff. Last week she earned a spot on the All-ACC second team, and she was honored as the ACC Player of the Week earlier this season.

Norris strung together a remarkable 18-game winning streak in the heart of the season - including 17 straight during a school-record 28-game winning streak. She is already tied for the fourth-most wins in a season in school history and is in the top ten at UNC in single-season starts, appearances, saves (t-2nd), innings pitched and strikeouts.

Brown has led the Carolina regulars in batting average throughout the season and is currently hitting at a .343 clip. Her 68 hits on the year put her ninth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in that category, and she is eighth in stolen bases with 18. She has also recorded a remarkable 13 outfield assists from her position in centerfield.

UNC opens play in the NCAA Tournament with a game against Winthrop at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
