CHAPEL HILL --- The No. 22 North Carolina softball team will host the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship May 11-14 at Anderson Stadium. This year marks the first time that the Tar Heels have hosted the event at their home stadium. Carolina hosted in 1996 and 2001 at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex in Raleigh.

UNC will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Maryland on Thursday, May 11, at 12:30 p.m. The winner of that game will meet the winner of No. 3 Virginia Tech and No. 6 Virginia in the second round. On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 NC State will face No. 8 Boston College, while No. 4 Georgia Tech takes on No. 5 Florida State.
