North Carolina Announces 2003 Women's Soccer Schedule

April 15, 2003

2003 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina women's soccer team will once again play one of the most challenging schedules in the nation this fall in the docket announced Tuesday by Head Coach Anson Dorrance. Fifteen of UNC's opponents, including 13 of the 18 regular-season foes, were NCAA Tournament teams in 2003.

Carolina will play 2003 NCAA quarterfinalist Texas A&M, Round of 16 teams Nebraska, UCLA, Richmond, Virginia and Florida State and second round participants Maryland and Wake Forest among regular season opponents. Other tournament teams on the schedule include Washington State, Kentucky, Texas, Villanova and Clemson. UNC will also play exhibitions against NCAA Tournament teams Michigan and Ohio State. The Wolverines were NCAA quarterfinalists a year ago.

Other teams on the schedule include Washington, Navy, Duke, NC State and Guilford.

The Tar Heels will have seven regular season games at home, including four ACC contests.
