Cook Named First-Team All-South By IWLCA

CHAPEL HILL - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) this week released its all-regional teams, and North Carolina junior Jenn Cook was named first-team All-South Region. Freshman Amber Falcone, junior Kristen Hordy and junior Melissa McCarthy were named to the second team.

The IWLCA honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection on one of the All-Regional teams. These athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American teams, which will be announced on May 30. The IWLCA and US Lacrosse will honor the National All-Americans at an awards banquet on June 10, 2006 in Baltimore, MD.

Other Atlantic Coast Conference players honored include first-team choices Laura Anderson (Duke), Katie Chrest (Duke), Becky Clipp (Maryland), Delia Cox (Maryland), Leigh Jester (Duke), Kelly Kasper (Maryland), Tyler Leachman (Virginia), Nikki Lieb (Virginia) and Rachel Sanford (Duke).
