Six Tar Heels Named To All-ACC Academic Rowing Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Six North Carolina student-athletes have been named to the 2007 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Rowing Team, announcd on Friday by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford. All six conference schools that sponsor rowing are represented on the team.

Tar Heels on the team are seniors Christin Cotten and Adriann Spinks, junior Lisy McIntee, and sophomores Mary Sasson, Chandler Sours and Ruby Woodside.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. In addition to UNC's six, the 30-member squad includes 10 from ACC champion and NCAA runner-up Virginia, five from Boston College, five from Clemson, two from Duke and two from Miami.

McIntee is one of three All-America honorees and 11 All-ACC performers named to the team. She and Spinks both earned the honor for the second year in a row.
