Nelms, Sell Honored By ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Jennifer Nelms and Jessica Sell have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women's Basketball Team, annouced on Wednesday by the ACC. Fifteen student-athletes from the 12-team league were named to the squad, which requires a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Sell, a 5-10 guard from Barrackville, W. Va., started for the Tar Heels last season as they went 33-2 and reached the Final Four. A communication studies major, she earned the team's Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete Award for 2005-06 and also was named to the Dean's List. Nelms, a 5-9 guard from Spotsylvania, Va., appeared in 21 games. Also a communication studies major, she earned Dean's List honors for both semesters. Both players were seniors in 2005-06. Florida State led the squad with four selections.
