CLEVELAND --- North Carolina (34-3) will look to advance to the national championship game for the second time in school history when the Tar Heels face Tennessee Sunday night at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Carolina advanced to the Final Four with an 84-72 win over Purdue on Tuesday night. Tennessee (32-3), an at-large qualifier from the Southeastern Conference, defeated seventh-seeded Ole Miss 98-62 in Tuesday's Dayton Regional final. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 2 in the nation in both the AP poll and the coaches poll. Tennessee is No. 3 in the AP poll and No. 3 in the coaches poll.

TENNESSEE SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 3-12 all-time against Tennessee, including a 70-57 win earlier this season in Chapel Hill.
• The last three meetings in the series prior to this season (1993, 1998 and 2006) have come in the NCAA Tournament. Prior to 1993, the two teams had never met in the NCAA Tournament.
• Of teams that have played Carolina at least 10 times, only Tennessee (12-3), NC State (49-35) and Old Dominion (12-7) have a winning record against the Tar Heels.

CAROLINA IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
• UNC is playing in the tournament as a No. 1 seed for the fourth time in school history and the third season in a row. Carolina was also a No. 1 seed in 1997.
• The Tar Heels are now 17-16 all-time in NCAA Tournament games played away from Chapel Hill.
• UNC is now 3-2 all-time in regional final games, with wins in 1994, 2006 and 2007.
• Carolina is now 33-13 in NCAA Tournament play in 15 total appearances under coach Sylvia Hatchell. UNC now has an all-time NCAA record of 35-17 in 19 overall appearances and was the 1994 NCAA Champion.
