Football Game vs. Furman Scheduled For 7 p.m.

Chapel Hill, N.C. ----- The University of North Carolina's home football game vs. Furman on Saturday, Sept. 16, will kick off at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. It will be the first night game at Kenan Stadium since last season's Wisconsin game Sept. 17, 2005.

Carolina opens the 2006 campaign with three consecutive televised games. The Tar Heels face Rutgers Sept. 2 at 3:30 p.m. on ABC, followed by Virginia Tech Sept. 9 at Noon on ESPN and Furman Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

Carolina also plays at Virginia in a nationally-televised Thursday night game Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN and at Notre Dame Nov. 4 at 2:30 p.m. on NBC.
