Carolina Drops Out Of Newest Poll

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina women's cross-country team dropped out of the latest poll from No. 6 to receiving votes after finishing second at the UNC Challenge this past weekend. The Tar Heels fell by three points to Coastal Carolina on the Finley Cross Country Course.

The voting panel consists of nine regional representatives of the Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association plus three at-large voters.

Four ACC teams are still ranked in the September 17th poll. Last year's ACC champion North Carolina State sits at No. 6, while Duke is No. 8. Wake Forest is ranked at No. 24 and Virginia is the final ACC team ranked as they sit at No. 26. Georgia Tech fell out of the polls this week as they dropped from No. 24.
