Kilburg Named to All-Independent First Team




Upper Iowa sophomore Katie Kilburg was named to the All-Independents Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) Softball First Team today. The corner outfielder led the Peacocks in batting average (.361), hits (48), home runs (9), runs scored (26), slugging percentage (.662) and on-base percentage (.433). She was also second on the team with 23 RBI. Kilburg had 14 multi-hit games and was voted the team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player this season.
 
In just two years at Upper Iowa, Kilburg is already third in home runs, seventh in doubles, eighth in hits and ninth in RBI on the all-time UIU career lists. Earlier this month, she was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division Softball First Team. Katie is the daughter of Lori and Ron Kilburg. She is majoring in Elementary Education at Upper Iowa.
 
The ICAA includes eight NCAA Division II Independents - Florida Gulf Coast, Palm Beach Atlantic, Tiffin, Upper Iowa, Grand Canyon, Columbia Union, North Greenville and Mary.
