SPARTANBURG, S.C. - After splitting a pair of tough games at home, the USC Upstate women's basketball teams will hit the road for the first of four road games on Tuesday when they travel to Greensboro, N.C. for a 7 p.m. game at North Carolina A&T. The Spartans, who enter the game 2-3 after a 59-56 win over Limestone on Saturday, have found an inside-out scoring duo in sophomore Courtney Hawkins and freshman Oceana Jackson. Hawkins, a 5-4 guard, averages 13.4 points and 2.0 steals per game and Jackson, a 6-0 forward, is averaging 13.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The Spartans have two other players averaging more than eight points a game with freshman Tiffany Whiting averaging 8.8 points and hitting 2.1 3-pointers per game and junior Courtney Bradley averaging 8.0 points and 4.4 assists per game. Head coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs has the Lady Aggies on a roll, as they are out to a 4-1 start, but that should be no surprise for the 23rd-year head coach. Bibbs recently won her 400th career game, an 88-62 victory over UNC Asheville on Friday, as she led the team to the UNC Greensboro tournament title. The team was picked to finish third in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll. Spartan Notables
