SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Danielle Altman, the head coach of the UC Santa Barbara women's water polo program since the 2003 season, has resigned effective July 31, 2007, Athletics Director Gary Cunningham announced Tuesday.

Altman completes her Gaucho coaching career with an overall record of 83-83 and a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation record of 17-40. UCSB went 16-22 overall in 2007 and 2-10 in the MPSF. Altman's best season in Santa Barbara was 2005 when her team posted a 17-12 overall record and a 5-7 record in league play.

Altman came to UCSB in 2003 after spending four seasons at Cal State San Bernardino.

A search for her replacement will begin immediately.
