The UC Santa Barbara men climbed to first place in the third day of competition. Brent Nolan and Jason Hardy finished first and second respectively in the 1000 freestyle. Shaun Crossman and Dan Leelachat performed well in the 400 individual medley relay. Pat Cary, Ben Fisher, and Pat Ota showed wonderfully in the 100 butterfly and Cary placed second while Brian Mirkovich took first in the 200 freestyle. UCSB men conquered the 100 backstroke placing first through third with Pat Ota, T.K. Erwin, and Ben Fisher finishing respectively. Both men's and women's teams placed second in the 200 freestyle relay.

The team will resume tomorrow, the last day of the Big West Conference Championships, Feb. 21, at the Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, Calif. for another all day affair.
