Stockton, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Men's swimming team won their last regular season meet today against the strong UOP Tigers team who are the reigning champions at the Big West Conference. The UC Santa Barbara men finished up 146 over 116 against the University of the Pacific. Gauchos Eric Koch, Garrett Porteous, and Grants Hurst performed well to bring the Gauchos to a victory. The last event, the 200 freestyle medley, was won by our Gaucho men: Warm, Mirkovich, Peck, and Ogata with a time of 1:24.52.

In the 100 yd breaststroke event Gaucho men, Derek Ogata, Scott Baer, and Brendan Lee brought in the first, second, and third place times. Up against a good team such as UOP the Gauchos were still able to show their talent. The UC Santa Barbara men look onto the Big West Championships in Long Beach that take place in a few weeks. Their season may be coming to a close but their determination to come out on top at the conference meet is just beginning.
