SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Forward Todd Follmer, who redshirted the 2004-05 basketball season at UC Santa Barbara, has left school and will not return, head coach Bob Williams announced Thursday.

Follmer, a 7-foot forward from Santa Margarita High School, would have been a freshman in 2005-06.

"We wish Todd all the best in his future," said Williams. "I really believe he is a very talented young man, but in retrospect, this was not the right fit for him."

As a senior at Santa Margarita, the San Clemente, Calif., native helped lead his high school team to the CIF Division III-AA championship. In 2004, Follmer averaged 15.0 points, 12.1 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots per game.
