SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Scott Rainey, a redshirt freshman forward on the UC Santa Barbara men's basketball team this past season, will transfer to Seattle University, head coach Bob Williams announced Wednesday.

Rainey, a 6-foot-10 native of Astoria, Oregon, saw action in 17 games as a redshirt freshman in 2002-03. He totaled 49 minutes, three points and 11 rebounds.

"Scott will have an opportunity to play right away at Seattle. That is a very good situation for him," said Williams. "I appreciate all of his effort in his two years at UC Santa Barbara and I wish Scott all the best in his future."
