Former Gaucho Bill Rowe Earns College World Series Ring

OMAHA, Neb. - Former Gaucho Bill Rowe played an integral part of Oregon State's run to the National Title that ended in a 3-2 victory over North Carolina on Monday in Omaha, Neb. Rowe, the Beavers' starting first baseman batted .345 on the year with 22 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 56 RBI in 2006. It was Rowe's run that scored on second baseman Bryan Steed's throwing error in the bottom of the eighth inning that sealed the National Championship for Oregon State.

Last year Rowe batted .235 for the Gauchos, tallying nine doubles, a triple, three home runs and 39 RBI. In 2004, the first baseman appeared in 51 games for the Gauchos, starting 48, and batted .319 driving in 39 and belting four home runs. In his freshman campaign at UCSB, Rowe batted .285 with four doubles and three home runs.
