Nov. 5, 2007

The last two weeks have gone pretty well for us.

We started last week with a nasty trip to Arlington. I still have no idea what happened. We just didn't even show up for the first two games. We played fairly well the third and fourth game but it was too late.

We got home late Tuesday night but woke up early for class on Wednesday. We also had a much needed practice that afternoon. Thursday night we beat Central Arkansas in three games. Finally we were back in Strahan!

Saturday was a lot of fun. Coach Tracy and the team threw me a bridal shower that morning in the Maroon and Gold room and I got so many cool gifts! It really opened my eyes to how soon I will actually be MARRIED! Pretty scary but definitely exciting!

The fun continued into Saturday's game against Northwestern. We beat them in four games and it was a great end to the week.

We had a short weights/conditioning practice on Sunday afternoon and then three more practices this week, including our annual Halloween practice on Wednesday! The whole team was decked out in costume and it made practice very different and fun.

Wednesday night, some of us went to the UT vs. OU volleyball game in Austin, and the level of competition between two top 20 teams was great to see. The game only lasted about an hour and a half and I don't think Texas ever let Oklahoma score over 20 points.

Thursday we left on the eight hour bus trip to Thibodaux, Louisiana. We woke up Friday and ate breakfast in the hotel. We also had two hours of study hall. Then we went on a field trip! We went to a wildlife farm way out in the middle of nowhere. We saw alligators, a snapping turtle, goats, raccoons, bobcats, and plenty of mosquitoes! I even got to hold a baby alligator! It was definitely random but fun.

Friday night we beat Nicholls in four. We had a little slip-up in game two, but actually ended up having a blast by the last game. After a quick post-game stop by Wendy's, we headed to Hammond.

Saturday we woke up and ate brunch at Cracker Barrel. Then we played Southeastern at 2 p.m., beating them in three games. Both the Nicholls and Southeastern games were their senior nights.

Ours is coming up this Tuesday against Pan Am, and the whole night will be dedicated to just two people, Brandy and Ashley! :)

This week coming up will be our last week of regular season games and we need all the support we can get to win all of them and get the highest possible seed we can in the conference tournament!
