LUBBOCK - Texas State continued play in the Wilson/ITA Regional Saturday.

In the singles qualifying bracket, Rabea Hartmann lost a 7-6 (2), 2-6, 6-2 decision to Texas Tech's Laura Ring. With the win, Ring moved into the main draw.

Also in the main draw Saturday, Texas State's Andrea Giraldo suffered a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 loss to Texas Tech's Simone Templeton.

In the main doubles draw, Texas State had a pair of teams advanced to the second round. Lainy Chafitz and Andrea Giraldo defeated Narine Kazanova and Shannon MacKenzie of North Texas 8-4 before losing to LSU's Megan Falcon and Staton Spencer. Ali Gulida and Hartmann defeated Kyla Coleman and Ring 8-5 but dropped an 8-2 decision to UNT's Catalina Cruz and Rachel Wilhelm.
