Megan Ramey begins her fourth year as a Texas State assistant head coach. Ramey's primary responsibility is working directly with goalkeepers, however she will also help more with defense this season. Off the field, Ramey serves as the recruiting coordinator and is in charge of daily soccer operations.
Ramey joined the Bobcats from Western Michigan in 2005, after serving as second assistant for one season.
"I knew that Texas soccer was great and I wanted to get more into recruiting," Ramey said. "I knew coach Conner had good coaching experience and could really teach me a lot."
However Ramey has been able to teach her players a good amount in her three seasons with the Bobcats. Under the guidance of Ramey, Paige Perriraz ranked third in the Southland Conference goalkeepers in total saves, while posting a 6-3 record.
While assisting at Western Michigan, Ramey trained goalkeepers, helped plan practices and recruited student athletes. During her stint at WMU, Ramey also coached at the club level, serving as the U-16 TKO head coach.
She began her coaching career by working various soccer camps before entering college. She started by serving as the assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer for three seasons with the Pacesetter Soccer Club. Over the course of the past seven seasons, she served as a goalkeeper coach at Western Michigan, Indiana University, Texas State, Middle States of America Soccer Camps and Joe Macknik's No.1 Goalkeeper Camp. Currently the goalkeeper trainer for the South Texas Olympic Development Program.
During her playing days, Ramey was a two-year starter at Western Michigan where she was named team captain, earned team MVP honors and was a First-Team All-Conference selection.
Ramey received her bachelor's degree from Western Michigan in 2002 with an emphasis in psychology and furthered her education with a master's from Washington College (Maryland) in 2005. She holds a United States Soccer Federation "B" coaching license.
