Bobcats Place Third at Lady Indian Classic
Oct. 11, 2005 JONESBORO, Ark. - Led by junior Danielle Mask's charge into the individual top 10, Texas State made a move on the field during the final round of the Lady Indian Classic to capture third place Tuesday. Heading into the second and final round of the tournament hosted by Arkansas State, only nine strokes separated second through 10th places with the Bobcats entrenched near the top in fifth. The `Cats shot a 308, tying for the second-best round of the day, to finish with a two-round score of 623. Sam Houston State fired a 305 Tuesday and scored a 617 to win the tournament while first-round leader Louisiana-Monroe placed second with a 621. Mask shot a 79 and was in a tie for 23rd on Monday but fired a 74 Tuesday to finish tied for seventh with a two-round score of 153. Texas State's Christine Brijalba shot a 154 to finish in a tie for 10th while Anessa Thompson's 76 on Tuesday lifted her to a tie for 13th with a score of 155. Sam Houston's Jennifer Heinz won the tournament with a two-round score of 147. The Bobcats wrap up the fall season next month at the UTPA Bronc Classic.
