SAN MARCOS - Football coach David Bailiff has announced this year's Texas State Football Banquet Presented by Chartwells will be held April 1 at the LBJ Student Center Ballroom.

The banquet will follow Texas State's annual Maroon and Gold Spring Game scheduled for earlier in the day.

This year's banquet will celebrate Texas State football's first Southland Conference championship and Division I-AA playoff appearance as well as recognize the team's 27 seniors.

The evening begins with a silent auction at 6:30 p.m. followed by the dinner served by Chartwells at 7 p.m.

The April 1 banquet will offer fans one more opportunity to celebrate the Bobcats' SLC championship and NCAA National Semifinalist season. Texas State posted an 11-3 record in 2005. Reservations for the banquet are limited and seating will be closed once the ballroom's capacity as been met.

BACK ON THE FIELD: Following a week off for spring break, Texas State is set to begin the second half of spring drills Monday. The Bobcats are scheduled to go through eight practice dates during the next two weeks.
