AUSTIN - Texas State senior Sarah Stultz qualified for the NCAA regionals in a second event while Katya Kostetskaya advanced to the finals of the 400 meter hurdles during the second day of the Texas Relays being held at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Stultz beat her previous season mark by almost 13 feet with a throw of 55.55 meters (182-03). She fouled her first two attempts before registering her mark on her third of six throws. Her performance Thursday in the hammer throw was good for eighth place as 12 competitors all recorded regional-qualifying marks.

Stultz qualified for the discus last month at the UTSA Relays.

Every runner to advance to the 400 meter hurdle finals had NCAA Regional qualifying marks and Kostetskaya clocked a time of 58.99 in the seventh and final heat race of the day. The sophomore's best time in the event this season is 58.63.

Also on Thursday, Yuliya Stashkiv clocked a time of 17:32.54 in the 5000 meters for a third-place finish.

The Texas Relays continue through Saturday.
