University of Texas-Pan American head men's basketball coach Robert Davenport announced on Thursday (July 7) that Kano Edwards (Bridgeport, CT/Western Nebraska C.C.) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Broncs in the fall semester.

"Kano is an athletic post player and will provide us with a good inside presence," said Davenport. "He is a good contrast from Colin (Lien) in the fact that he is big and bouncy and can run the floor extremely well. We are excited about his size and versatility, and he wraps up our recruiting class."

Edwards comes to the Rio Grande Valley from Western Nebraska Community College where he averaged 3.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game. He appeared in 32 en route to helping the Cougars to a 28-5 record, including a trip to the finals of the Region IX Tournament.
