Green Wave Men Return to the Radio in New Orleans
Dec. 6, 2005 COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Tulane Basketball returns to the New Orleans area radio airwaves on Wednesday night when the Green Wave meets TCU in College Station, Texas. The game will be broadcast live on WIST-AM (690), the flagship station of the Tulane ISP Sports Network. WIST, formerly WTIX, returned to the air for the first time on Monday (Dec. 5) after receiving extensive damage to its radio transmitter and tower site during Hurricane Katrina. "Everyone associated with AM 690 WIST is thrilled that we are able to return to the New Orleans area so we can assist in helping our citizens move forward in returning New Orleans to its rightful place as one of America's greatest cities," station general manager Dan Frazier said. "We're also very proud to bring Tulane Athletics back to New Orleans for the 2005-06 men's basketball season." "We appreciate the efforts of WIST to get back on the air as soon as possible," Tulane coach Dave Dickerson said. "We are excited that our fans in the city of New Orleans will be able to listen to the game and we are even more excited to get back into town and give them a chance to see us in person." The pregame show for tonight's broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. (CST) with tipoff scheduled for 7:00. Tulane returns to New Orleans prior to Christmas and will host Richmond at Fogelman Arena on Dec. 27th at 7 p.m. Tickets for that game as well as season tickets are available at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
