Tulane Announces Men's Basketball TV Schedule
Nov. 19, 2004 NEW ORLEANS, La. - Fans throughout the state of Louisiana will have the opportunity to follow the Tulane men's basketball game throughout the season as Cox Sports TV, which reaches much of the state, will air 10 games in 2004-05. "We are very excited to have more games on tv this year," Tulane head coach Shawn Finney said. "Anytime you get television exposure, especially in your local market; it builds excitement and brings more fan awareness to your basketball program." The Southern Miss home game has been moved from a 7 p.m. start to a 6:30 p.m. tipoff in order to accommodate television scheduling. Seven of the games will be aired live while the other three will be broadcast on a tape delay basis. Two will be same day tape delays while the Charlotte game (2/19) will be broadcast the following day. All Green Wave men's games are broadcast by the Tulane ISP Radio Network, which includes WTIX AM 690 in New Orleans and WJSH FM 104.7 on the Northshore.
The first games to be televised will be this weekend's contests at the Louisiana Basketball Classic in Baton Rouge. The season opener on Friday against LSU tips off at 8 p.m., while the consolation and championship games of the tournament will be played Sunday at 12:30 and 3 p.m., respectively. In addition to the Louisiana Classic games, road games at Northwestern State (Dec. 6), Southern Miss (Jan. 22), Memphis (Feb. 12) and Cincinnati (Mar. 2) will be aired.
