NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's basketball team will close out the regular season on the road this Saturday against UAB at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.

The Green Wave (15-12, 8-7 C-USA) enters the contest having won six out of its last eight outings and is riding a two-game win streak. Tulane is currently sitting in a four-way tie for fourth place with Southern Miss, Tulsa and Rice. The Wave will need a victory over UAB and some help from its fellow league members to capture a third or fourth place finish for a first-round by in next week's Conference USA Tournament.

TU has an overall road record of 4-7 this season and is 3-4 away from home in league play. The Wave is 2-2 in its last four road outings.

For the year, Tulane is averaging 70.1 points and 38.1 rebounds per game and is shooting 45.2 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from behind the three-point line and 67.7 percent from the free-throw line. Junior David Gomez is TU's top scorer and rebounder with 14.0 points and 6.1 boards per game, while senior Chris Moore and freshman Kevin Sims are averaging 10.3 and 10.1 points per outing, respectively.

UAB (15-14, 7-8 C-USA) had its two-game win streak snapped on the road in its last contest, a 76-68 loss at Southern Miss this past Wednesday. Prior to the Southern Miss loss, the Blazers had not only won two straight games, but have rebounded from three straight losses by winning a total of four out of its five previous outings.

UAB and Marshall are currently tied for eighth place in the conference standings heading into the final game of the regular season. The Blazers are 9-3 overall at home this season and sport a mark of 4-3 in conference play on its home floor.

Paul Delaney III is one of three UAB players averaging double figures with 16.0 points per game. Wen Mukubu and Lawrence Kinnard are second and third with 14.7 and 12.7 points per contest, respectively. Kinnard also leads the team in rebounding with 6.0 boards per game.

The Blazers are averaging 66.4 points and 35.4 rebounds per game and are shooting 42.6 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from behind the three-point line and 61.4 percent from the foul line.

Saturday's game marks the 26th all-time meeting between Tulane and UAB, and the Blazers lead the series, 14-11. UAB handed the Green Wave a 67-60 setback at Fogelman Arena earlier this season, so TU will look to avoid the season sweep this Saturday as well. Tulane has an all-time record of 4-8 at UAB and hasn't won in Birmingham since a 75-72 victory during the 2002-03 campaign. The Wave's last win in the series was a 76-73 overtime victory in 2004-05.
