BATON ROUGE, La. - Junior Sheena Garwood won the 800-meter run to lead Tulane University's indoor track team in its season-opening meet at the Purple Tiger Invitational on Saturday at LSU.

Garwood was the only individual winner for the Wave, finishing the race in 2:19.51.

Other top finishers for the Wave included junior Carlyne Pradieu, who finished third in the one-mile run, and freshman Lindsey Karlick, who took second place in the pole vault. Sophomore Angel Dooley had a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash.

Tulane will be back in action next Saturday, Feb. 1, running at the University of Houston Classic.
