LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jessica Morrow and Jhasmin Player each scored 19 points and No. 8 Baylor beat Texas Tech 72-67 on Wednesday night in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

Dominic Seals tied a career high with 22 for Texas Tech, which lost back-to-back games for the first time this season. Both losses came to ranked teams.

The game was close throughout, as each team shot below 40 percent from the field. But Baylor (13-1, 1-0) made five of seven 3-point shots in the second half to pull away.

After trailing early in the second half, the Bears built a double-digit lead with about 6 minutes to play.

Texas Tech (12-3, 0-1) pulled within three after a pair of baskets from Erin Myrck, but free throws by Rachel Allison and Angela Tisdale put Baylor up by eight with about a minute to play and the Lady Raiders held on.

Texas Tech scored the first seven points of the second half for a three-point lead. But Morrow and Player fueled Baylor's comeback, combining to score 15 of Baylor's next 17 points as the Lady Bears pulled ahead for good.
