Men's Tennis Routs Nebraska

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team posted a decisive victory over the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday morning at the Falls Country Club. The Red Raiders improve to 10-8 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12 Conference. Due to inclement weather, singles were played first and doubles were not played. In singles action, Tech's Jakob Paulsen defeated Gerhard Posch at the No. 1 position, 6-2, 6-0, while junior Esat Tanik beat Jose Rivera 7-6, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot. At the No. 4 slot, junior Michael Innerebner topped Joel Reckewey 6-4, 6-1, and freshman Dinko Halachev defeated Jeff Nabity at the No. 5 spot, 6-4, 6-2.
Texas Tech Coach Tim Siegel is proud the team bounced back after a disappointing loss against Texas.
"I was proud of the way our team bounced back emotionally from a devastating tough loss against Texas." Siegel said. "They really came to play against a tough Nebraska team, and I am just proud of their effort." The Red Raiders next action will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Texas A&M at the McLeod Tennis Center.
